Top TV presenter hosted Vioxx video to ‘educate’ GPs

The Australian – SEVEN Network presenter David Koch hosted an education program for GPs produced by pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co, which addressed concerns about the safety of its anti-arthritis drug Vioxx. Documents tendered to the Federal Court reveal the Australian arm of the company created a CD called Joint Venture – CPD on the move with David Koch in 2003 about treatment options available for osteoarthritis. The accredited program, in which doctors received professional development credit points, included a panel of experts, light-hearted skits and segments on Vioxx.  Read Article
