U.S. backs vaccines for drug, nicotine addiction

Reuters – Hooked on cocaine or cigarettes? The U.S. government wants drug companies to make a vaccine for that. Convinced of the need for new and better treatments for addiction, the government is focusing its efforts on vaccine development as a new way to treat and possibly prevent addiction to a range of addictive substances. The Biochemist – 1. The US gov’t is essentially RUN by the corporations in America, so they would focus it’s efforts on vaccine developement. They’ve done well from the ‘pandemic’. 2. As a treatment for addiction, vaccines are a riskier option than other treatments, due to the risk of over stimulation of the immune system leading to possible auto-immune diseases – far more serious that the original problem.
