China unveils Copenhagen targets

BBC – China has unveiled its first ever firm target for limiting greenhouse gas emissions, two weeks before a global summit on climate change in Copenhagen. Beijing said it will aim to reduce its “carbon intensity” by 40-45% by the year 2020, compared with 2005 levels. Read Article

Ed – Anyone who thinks that a deal won’t be done in the very near future to create a $2-3 trillion a year industry in climate trading is falling to wishful thinking. For that kind of money the big banks and the elite will move whatever obstacles are in their way
