Copenhagen Summit – The last decade was the warmest on record, according to the UK Government owned Met Office (which collates data with University at centre of Climate-Gate scandal)

Daily Telegraph – And despite the cold winter earlier this year, 2009 was the fifth warmest year since the 1850s The global surface temperature record for the last 160 years is maintained jointly by the Met Office Hadley Centre and the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia (UEA). However this year it is likely to be controversial because of the continuing scandal surrounding ‘climategate’. Climate sceptics claim that emails stolen from UEA prove that scientists were willing to manipulate climate change data to show an increase in global warming and question the 160-year record.  Read Article

Ed – Bearing in mind that all the independent data (+ NASA’s) has show a drop in temperatures this decade, amazingly the UK Government funded Met Office produces this “definitive” record just when the Copenhagen Summit is occuring? Co-incidence?
