Problem, Reaction, Solution

What is Problem > Reaction > Solution?
As seen to perfection by the Blair Government spin machine it is a basic psychological method, developed in the early 20th Century, of manipulating an agenda, whether it be an individual salesman making a sale, a Government wanting to push through potentially unpopular legislation or a Corporation trying to increase its profit margin.
Simply Put:
Problem – Manipulate “customer” reaction by creating a perceived problem, perhaps by leaking stories to the press e.g.: Iraq WMD, Terrorist threat, Global Warming
Reaction – Your “customer” obviously is concerned by this apparent turn of events and demands help and protection
Solution – Eh Voila, you come up with the solution to save the day, the same “solution” that you would never have been able to sell before making the customer worried e.g.: 5 years of Iraq war; an endless war on a noun (terror); and people for the first time being willing to pay more taxes and cut back on their consumption to “save the world” all under a false pretext.
The question is does the end justify the means?
Even if this is happening what can I do about it?
To ignore what is happening in your world is no different to condoning what is done in your name. But when will you take a stand?
Every single one of us can make a difference, no matter how small it may seem. Even if is just talking to others, or forwarding a link to OYE News, by raising their awareness they may do the same to others, and so pass it on. It would be a very significant and important thing that you will have done.
On our own we are helpless, together we can change the world.
Future generations will not thank us if we bury our heads in the sand and ignore what is happening right now.

Alright, so you’ve identified a problem; strung together a few ideas and newspaper articles; and attempted to whip up a sense of urgency with some vague Americanist: “yeah, baby we can make it,” pseudo call-to-arms …but where is this actually going?
You want people to “raise awareness” – you mean add yet more blogs to the conspiracy-spotter pile? fill up their hard-drives and book shelves with “evidence” or literature? bore their friends and family senseless with their knowing apathy?
Surely this is just revolutionary masturbation… meaning, that the ultimate end point of this train of thought is to proceed through the seduction and foreplay to commit the final act; i.e.: that you must seduce members; indoctrinate them (i.e.: “open their eyes”) to where they can be franchisees of the world view; and rally a mass movement and engage in some coordinated Gandhi-esque civil disobedience?
Don’t take it the wrong way… It’s not that there isn’t well-meaning and well-observed concerns in what you say; but even you must realise that for this to be worth even your while to do, it must translate into something accessible to the mainstream – something that wouldn’t sound weird if you said or shouted it in public: in a pub; in a council meeting; on regional news programmes etc…
If you can make the case to people on their doorstep; and not just in squirrelled-away websites online; then you yourself will feel assured that what you are talking about makes some kind of sense; and is not just some outlandish film plot.
If it truly was the case that we were entering into some kind of global North Korea; it’s got to make sense in practical ways… economic sense etc… you have to present what the specific motivation might be.
Without understanding what you are really suggesting, how are you really going to be able to do anything about it?
If it truly is happening; and you truly aren’t properly prepared for resistence; then much like the G20 protestors, you are in danger of bringing a fart to a shit fight.
Interesting turn of phrase my friend. Yes this is just “foreplay” as you so interestingly put it, but every journey must have a beginning. This is part of a whole string of activities that are designed to raise common awareness of the situation our civilisation is in. The only effective and humanist way that you can change the system is through peace (gandhi-esque as you put it) and the only way you can do that is through weight of numbers. For as long as the masses are dummed down or scared off looking deeper for fear of being labelled a denier or conspiracy nut, then very little can be achieved. If a thousand people become aware and take action, for example engaging in the political process, lobbying etc then some progress can be made. If a million become aware that so much more can be achieved. A utopia is impossible. But at least we can try and smooth of some of this world’s rough edges
There is no doubt that “problem, reaction, solution” is occurring in a big way. It is the most effective means of persuading the public to a point of view and obtaining approval for a course of action which may be contrary to the welfare of that same public.
The most gruesome example is 9/11. Three skyscrapers were destroyed, only two hit by planes, and 3000 civilians were murdered. That was an immense “problem” and it achieved a powerful “reaction” and a terrible “solution” which turned out to be no solution at all. Now millions of people in the middle east are dead, maimed and homeless.
For a good introduction to the case that 9/11 was not what it seemed to be see: http://journalof911studies.com/volume/2009/LeggeCDatWTC.pdf or simply go to the Journal of 9/11 Studies and view the peer reviewed scientific papers. Start with the latest which is a historical summary.
