Local.se – There is no evidence to support the contention that the influenza vaccine administered to the over 65s is of any more use than opening the windows and washing hands, a new study from the Cochrane Collaboration claims, according to a report in the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper. The Cochrane Collaboration, an international not-for-profit organization providing up-to-date information about the effects of health care, has compiled data from 40 flu seasons worldwide. PhysOrg.com – Evidence for the safety and efficacy of influenza vaccines in the over 65s is poor, despite the fact that vaccination has been recommended for the prevention of influenza in older people for the past 40 years. These are the conclusions of a new Cochrane Systematic Review. Adults aged 65 and over are some of the most vulnerable during influenza season and a priority for vaccination programmes. However, very few systematic reviews of the effectiveness of vaccines in this group have ever been carried out. Read Article

It doesn’t make any sense not to get it.” Read Article

Daily Telegraph – It’s been a good week for drug companies and an even better one for conspiracy theorists. Ed. – Dr Wodarg would (hopefully) have been chosen for his intelligence and wisdom and ability to lead people; for the position of head of health at the Council for Europe. This man isn’t just any ‘conspiracy theorist’. He doesn’t seem to be benefiting from making this stance, which is widely unpopular, particularly among his peers. It makes sense that he has thought this through carefully and come to this conclusion, and is sharing that with the world – for the world’s benefit.

Daily Mail – So the Government, as the Daily Mail has revealed, is trying to get rid of £1billion-worth of unwanted swine flu vaccine – because the deadly epidemic they were promising us all last year never materialised. Several things are shocking about this revelation, not least the charge by the Council of Europe’s head of health that major drug companies might have leaned on the World Health Organisation (WHO) to stoke up last year’s scare by warning that swine flu could be a worldwide ‘pandemic’ killing tens of millions. Certainly, those companies have made vast fortunes out of selling the vaccines which, at our expense, are now having to be flogged off at give-away prices. Read Article
